What digital platforms are students currently using to develop their professional network?
As technology has developed over the years, students now are able to use various digital tools in order to help them develop their professional networks. As of right now I would say that LinkedIn is the most common tool. This platform allows students to connect with people in different industries. Due to the pandemic, Microsoft Teams and Zoom are two platforms that allow students to engage with their teachers or professors in a new way! With our course Brightspace and Mattermost are used to help us interact with the professor and peers to help us discuss the material.
What could the student consider in expanding their professional learning network
As a student, it is important to display a strong and positivity presence on professional digital platforms. By including thing such as an image and a introduction, this can help professionals become more aware of your profile. It is very important to interact with people on the platform, showing support and allows to create relationships.
My V&R Map:
After creating my V&R map, I was able to reflect on the various digital platforms that I use. This allowed me to see which platforms I use for personal purposes or for institutional purposes, in doing this I was able to realize if I am visitor or a resident on the platforms.
