Your PLN, Inclusion, and Community Engagement

Last fall I started working in a flower shop and it has been a wonderful experience. However meeting everyones needs and making sure that everyone is included is rather hard around holidays, as we have hundreds of orders. My bosses have realized that in order to make sure that everyone is included and that we have a diverse selection of flowers we are required to provide much larger amounts of stock for our customers on a day to day basis. Insuring that everyone is included and their needs are met are very important, thus why we have started ordering larger shipments of flowers.

Our social media represents who we are, whether it’s Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram or even TitTok. While using these apps, they represent who we are in the digital world and allows for others to view and make opinions of who we based on the content that is posted. Displaying inclusion and diversity on your platforms displays a positive and strong online presence, providing you with potential business opportunities and other experiences.

Taking a look at my own PLN, I would say it’s rather diverse. I gather information from various platforms including youtube, lectures, books, and social media. I believe that in using multiple sources of information, I am able to strengthen my ideas and display them better.

Hi Kyra, I love navigating through your blog! It’s really sweet to see how local companies are able to diversify to meet everyone’s needs by using such great social media platforms to connect, especially for busier seasons. I’m wondering what major differences were there when comparing before or after being able to promote the shop. Did you find any particular platform to be more successful than others?

    Hello Kyra.

I like how your flower shop is thinking in being diverse and inclusive in the variety of flowers they provide for the community. I am wondering, are there specific plants associated to certain regions or heritage at your shop and how do you showcase them? What platforms works well with the company. Providing a few names and pictures will make you blog pop and also provide more insight on your diverse services to your community.

I work with young teenage mothers and we created a facebook page for the parents to engage among themselves in a close group.

    Best regards.
